Where are we going?

Our desire at Holy Trinity is to be a growing church as we live for Jesus at the heart of our community.
We want to be a church which grows up, in and out.
As a church community we want to grow up in our own experience and knowledge of God, to support one another and to encounter the power of Jesus in our own lives.

We long to see our wider community transformed by the power of Jesus that is at work in us and to see people come to know and experience Jesus for themselves.
 

How will we get there?

In order to achieve our vision we will have three goals:
  • A worshipping community where we BELIEVE
  • A welcoming community where we BELONG and
  • A witnessing community where we BECOME
The future priorities listed below are only at this stage suggested priorities.
As a church we need to decide which priorities we will focus on as part of our Mission Action Plan (MAP) taking into account our limited resources.


A Worshipping Community

"I pray that our of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith"
Ephesisans 3: 16-17

If we want to live for Jesus at the heart of ouer coomunity, then worship and prayer is essential as we oourselves continue to encounter Jesus in our own lives and as we seek to follow Christ. It is vital that Holy Trinity is a place where we can come and worship together and encounter God.


A Welcoming Community

"And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ."
Ephesisians 3:17-18

We long to be a community where we are rooted in love and growing in ,ove for one another. As a church we long to be a welcoming and supportive community as we seek to help nuture one another in faith and equip one another to be a disciple and to live for Jesus.

What we are doing already:
Our social and fundraising events play a bital part in helping us build relationships with one another. Many of our events are also opportunities for family and friends to be welcomed as part of our church community.


A Witnessing Community

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more that all we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus."
Ephesisians 3: 20-21

At Holy Trinity we long for our wider community to be transformed by the power of Jesus that is at work in us. We want to reach out to those beyond our doors, and to help others discover Jesus for themselves. We want to be a growing church for His glory to both the young and older members of our church.

What we are doing already:
We have a strong Christian witness in our local school. A couple of members of Holy Trinity are regularly involved in school life; leading worship, supporting the school and the school community regularly come into church for their own worship.

Planning your Visit

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning or Sunday evening.

Where and When

We meet at Holy Trinity Church (details here) and our Sunday morning Service starts at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you find somewhere to sit before the Service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our Stewards, who will make you most welcome.

After the morning Service, we serve tea, coffee, biscuits (and occasionally even cake) in the Church Room, next door. This is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free, but a donation is appreciated.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Stewards know on your arrival and they will help you. 

Our Service

Our Sunday morning Service is based on the Church of England Common Worship Holy Communion, with our third Sunday in the month Service being more family orientated. Our worship is dynamic and lively with a mix of traditional hymns and more contemporary songs as we seek to lift up His name together.
Each Service lasts about an hour.
Our Sunday evening Service starts at 6.30pm and we follow the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) format with more traditional music. Occasionally, (usually every two months) we hold a Celtic Worship Service which follows the Iona Community style of worship which is more meditative, and reflective with 'folky' style music led by our Celtic Music Group.
