About Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity enjoys a prominent position in the centre of the Conservation area of Potten End and is open most days Monday to Saturday from 9.30am until 5pm

The building, which is Grade II listed, is a fine example of an Italiante Norman Church built in1868.
The church with the adjacent Church Room provides an essential focal point and anchor for the Village and the wider community that we serve.
We are an Eco Church and in 2022 we were awarded Bronze Eco Church status and are currently working towards Silver.

Our church is made up of people from all walks of life. We love diversity and we love to see new people, basically all are welcome in this place. We really hope that you will feel right at home.

Our Sunday morning Services begin at 10.30am and are based on the Church of England Common Worship Holy Communion. On the third Sunday in the month, our Third Sunday Praise Service is more family orientated. Our worship is dynamic and lively with a mix of traditional hymns and more contemporary songs as we seek to lift up His name together.
Each Service lasts about an hour followed by tea/coffee in the Church Room, which is situated next door. This offers a great opportunity for fellowship and meeting new friends.

Our Sunday evening Service starts at 6.30pm and we follow the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) format with more traditional music. Occasionally, (usually every two months) we hold a Celtic Worship Service which follows the Iona Community style of worship which is more meditative, and reflective with 'folky' style music led by our Celtic Music Group.

Our Sunday morning Services are also 'live' streamed to our Facebook page (Holy Trinity, Potten End) which can also be viewed later. Click here to watch.

We are also very active in our local community, including a Pastoral Care Team, and a Social Committee, who organise social events for everyone including working together with the Village Hall and the Parish Council.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning or Sunday evening.

Where and When

We meet at Holy Trinity Church (details here) and our Sunday morning Service starts at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you find somewhere to sit before the Service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our Stewards, who will make you most welcome.

After the morning Service, we serve tea, coffee, biscuits (and occasionally even cake) in the Church Room, next door. This is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free, but a donation is appreciated.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Stewards know on your arrival and they will help you.
