Courses and Events

We run courses during Lent and Advent, but there are also lots of community events, not neccesarily associated with our church. These are held on a weekly basis in our Church Room.
Our Quiz Nights are also very popular and raises funds for various charities, picked by the winning team.
Lent Course
I know that Christmas has only just passed and that many of us are still catching our breath after a busy and joyful season. Nevertheless, I am already beginning to look ahead to Lent, which will be upon us before we know it.
Lent invites us to journey intentionally with Jesus as we move towards the cross and the joy of Easter. It is a season that calls us again to discipleship, to deepen our relationship with God through prayer, reflection, and learning, and to evangelism, as we are reminded that the hope we receive is hope meant to be shared.
As we walk through Lent, we are shaped by the pattern of Jesus’ own journey, a path of self giving love, costly grace, and ultimately new life. Journeying together strengthens us as the Body of Christ, helps us support one another, and re centres us on God’s mission in the world. As we prepare for Easter, we do so not only to celebrate the resurrection, but to be renewed and sent out as witnesses to that resurrection hope in our daily lives.
With this in mind, I would like to lead a six week Lent course, meeting weekly during the season. Before confirming arrangements, it would be very helpful to have a sense of numbers, to ensure that the course would be viable and worthwhile.
If you think you might be interested in taking part, I would be very grateful if you could email me during the course of this week. At this stage, this is simply an expression of interest rather than a firm commitment. Further details will follow once numbers are clearer.
